We have inventory management software at our company. Whenever we have updates to our inventory, such as new prices or change in quantity. We send our program to our computers at different stores and the employees download the program. The only thing that\'s difficult for them to implement is the updates. It\'s just the way our program was coded.
So, I\'m thinking I will have the updates ready for them on our server at our main location. Then I\'ll e-mail them a small file that you will code and it will contact our main server and download the updates in the specified directly and execute the update.
Your program should not create any alerts by anti-virus or firewall. It must completely bypass all firewall. They aren\'t computer savvy, if there are any alerts then they won\'t know what to do. Then we have to go there and do everything ourselves, which defeats the purpose of this program.
So just to be clear. You will code a small size remote updater/installer that will execute silently and then contact a remote server, bypass av/fw, and download the files then execute silently once downloaded.
Requirements -
- XP/Vista Compatible
- Installer should be small in size
- silent installer - no detections/alerts by firewall or windows
- Prefer coded in C/C++ (must not have any dependencies such as any dotnet framework).
